There are only two weekends left until most roads close to cars for the season. Time may be running out, but remember to drive safely. Take the #yellowstonepledge and follow speed limits, park in pullouts, and stay in your car near wildlife. To learn more about seasonal road closures or the Yellowstone Pledge, check the links in our bio! Thanks to @marshdog_productions for taking the Pledge and encouraging others to do the same!
Sometimes I feel like I’m under this waterfall, pressure is immense, water barreling down. Other times I get out of my head and look from a different perspective. A couple deep breaths is the difference from being trapped under your stress...to looking down at it from the top of a mountain.
“Somewhere we know that without a lonely place our lives are in danger. Somewhere we know that without silence words lose their meaning, that without listening speaking no longer heals, that without distance closeness cannot cure. Somewhere we know that without a lonely place our actions quickly become empty gestures. The careful balance between silence and words, withdrawal and involvement, distance and closeness, solitude and community...” - Henry Nouwen :: This excerpt comes from, “Out of Solitude,” the last book I read before hiking this summer. Simply feeling grateful both for the moments of solitude and the shared moments these past few months.
Transition is hard. And this last year has felt like nothing but transition. I’ve moved 4 times in this last year and it’s been hard to feel at home and at peace with my life. Right now I’m sitting in my new home where I get to settle down for the first time in a long time. In times of transition, it’s important to remember that God led you there. And he’s not just gonna leave you there. He’s walking with you through this transition. “For I know the plans that I have for you. Plans to prosper you. To give you a hope and a future.” Jer. 29:11
