The #fesmedina was just as chaotic and scary as people say. On a nerdy note, I did buy a Fez hat in Fes.

How spectacular is this look on the tannery in the Centre on the Fez Médina. It was the first tannery in the world and also the biggest, protected by @unesco .The stench is unbearable as they mix the dye with pigeon as it contains ammonia that acts as softening agents that allows the hides to become malleable so they can absorb the dye. The little pieces of mint given to you to mask the smell does wonders! @bfgoodrichtires #bfgstories

The cat of Morocco 🐱😁 Love me, feed me, never leave me. Don't forget to visit tannery in Fez. The Chaouwara tanneries are one of the city’s most iconic sights (and smells), offering a unique window into the pungent, natural process of producing world-class leather using methods that have changed little since medieval time.

An almost 1000-year-old method of dying leather. It smelt like shit, for good reason. Cow urine and pigeon poo are used for part of the process 🐄 💩

Currently 3,687 miles away from Syracuse in a new, beautiful country, that's honestly a perfect temperature of 70 and a breeze.. yet, as much work as I do, and as little sleep that I get, something about Syracuse and the people there have made my first year in college so incredible and interesting. Those back in Maine I love you too, so thank you to all my friends from far and wide for being there for me through this last year and cheers to the new one🍻 p.s there are too many of you to tag so fuck off🤷🏾‍♂️

The infamous leather tanneries, where dozens of men spend 3-4 hours a day waist deep in pigeon poop to soften and dye the skins of the animals you eat in order to create your bags, clothes, shoes and furniture... How beautiful.
