Started week 3 today, by the end of these 8 weeks I have the intention of sitting around 175-180lbs but anything mid 180s will be great!! Delt definition is finally coming back!! . Ya’ll, I’ve finally found the workout that is literally my JAM and that fuels body and mind. . It’s a 20 minute workout that I do 6 days a week. Immediately after the workout I may be huffing and puffing but I feel SO ALIVE. The craziest thing is I’m leaning down and getting my definition back just doing 20 minutes a day!! . I literally can’t believe I went from doing 1.5-2 hours gym sessions 5 days a week only a few months back. My body felt wrecked afterwards and I got to the point where I dreaded going to the gym. It didn’t make me feel good but I thought this is what you do! You go to the gym for over an hour because that’s the standard. . You guys, just DO what makes you happy. What makes you feel alive? What makes you look forward to the next workout? . Don’t listen to society and what they claim is “right.” I’ve stopped following the “trendy” way and started doing MY way. I’ve never felt better.

Completing certain sets during your workout with no rest in-between can be extremely beneficial. I would even go as far to say that it could make or break a workout in terms of the overall muscle damage you are achieving that day. While using too little rest can limit the amount of hypertrophy achieved in a workout, not resting enough can fatigue a muscle too quickly and limit the amount of muscle damage you can achieve in a given workout(Especially if you are a beginner). . So this just happened.... I first noticed @gradenleongsensei and his team a few years back at a karate comp. What stood out most was the humbleness of his squad, so modest and unpretentious. I also noticed his presence, focus and attention was with his students...he was there prepping, coaching and just being a coach. An accomplished bodybuilder and a builder of bodies...Graden possesses e-x-t-e-n-s-i-v-e knowledge about training the body, the body itself, transformations, nutrition, health and fitness and martial arts. So it only made sense when his wife Cherilyn...a black belt in karate, a champion bikini model, a posing coach and a mother of 2 cute little munckins started a group fitness class...that I join. It's funny how the owners of the gym and the gym itself @teamgmf can be categorized the same way... personal, old school and unpretentious. Hi 👋🏼 my name is Chryste. I can’t remember a time where I didn’t struggle with my weight but over the last year I let it spiral out of control. I didn’t care. Food was everything and it was the only thing that brought me any kind of positive satisfaction. I was shocked to step on the scale and see 260 lbs read back to me. I knew I had to make a change but continued my old bad habits for another 4 months. I started to experience negative health related issues. I couldn’t walk thru a store without getting out of breath, and my blood pressure was through the roof. I hated what I saw when looking into the mirror. October rolled around and one of my closest friends and I (who also struggles with weight related issues) came across a 6 week challenge a gym we kept meaning to join was holding. We joined without hesitation. I was nervous to say the least especially with how out of shape I was. Gena, the trainer at our gym welcomed us with open arms, and modified the workouts to match our fitness levels. None the less it was still intimidating being around all these fit people. I stood out being the biggest one in the room. We started out going only 3 days a week but that soon turned into 5 days.. We were dedicated and seeing the results we so badly craved. We had a lot of ups but also a lot of downs... It was new, we were uncomfortable, and often easily frustrating. Going to the gym became our routine and if we missed a day we felt “off”. We gained friendships who have become some of our biggest supporters & motivators. We felt like we were apart of something.. The 6 week challenge ended but we weren’t where we wanted to be yet so we kept our membership going... Fast forward to 4 months later & we are still going strong.. Jen gave me the idea of an instagram account for accountability! So here we go I hope you guys will follow & be apart of my journey! These photos are from the October 6 week challenge. Creo que muchos de nosotros nos empeñamos en lograr un objetivo gigante y cada vez que fallamos nos sentimos derrotados y dejamos de tratar. Pero por qué no más bien le damos la vuelta y en lugar de fallar, vamos ganando en los micro objetivos que nos van a llevar al objetivo grande. Vamos poco a poco enamorándonos del proceso. - - - Esta semana les propongo algo, les propongo que trotemos juntos. Un kilometro, dos kilometros o los que se pueda. He pasado un poco sumergida en el trabajo pero mi micro meta de esta semana es volver a trotar por lo menos 2 kms diarios. Y creo que me motiva más y es mucho más alcanzable. Cada km acumulado cuenta y me lleva mucho más cerca de la meta. Keep stretching it out. My goal is to become the flexible because I have a tendency to not stretch before or after working out. I’ve noticed that when I do, it makes a world of a difference.
