Calorie cycling for fat loss. 📊 A more personalised approach for you? 🤷🏽‍♀️ So these 3 pictures show 3 different ways with the same average caloric totals (2171kcals) over 7 days, effectively resulting in the same overall fat loss result. 📋 The first shows a typical dieting and "cheat day" approach. Having to overly restrict for 6 days but resulting in a "stuff your face mode" of all the foods not allowed in the week. 🍕 🍫 The other options maybe more sensible and make dieting far easier to manage. The battle for most is handling a social life at the weekend while still progressing. 🍻 🍾 Unless an individual works at the weekend they generally consume far more food and/or drink on a weekends. This means the majority of clients require a strategy which enables a cushion on weekends (more calories). Therefore this cushion/allowence for more calories needs to be created by a more sensible nutrional approach in the week so a large enough calorie deficit is already created by the weekend without the weekend cancelling it out. 📉 👌 Understand that "cheat days" can undo your progress. Understand also that you need an approach that is going to be sustainable and overly restricting your food makes life and dieting a pain in the arse. If overly restricting and going very low with one day of very high calories is the best way for you then there really is no problem with that though. It could however result in energy and gym performance suffering for 6 days, developing a poor relationship with food and binge eating. Personally many years ago I used to be more like this but it didn't create a very good relationship with food. 😣 👎 What approach have you found to be the best for you? There really isn’t a perfect diet. - But it’s the one where you are able to create a caloric deficit and make it sustainable. - Working with many clients, I have seen allll kinds of “diets” work. There is no magic to any of these diets. They just found a way to shift the energy balance (through reduction in food and/or increasing activity) and made it sustainable. - Ask yourself: Is this way of eating something you can see myself doing a year from now? - And do not look for quick fixes. You may lose weight rapidly but it will all come back (and then some) when you resume your old habits. - Be honest with yourself when you think something isn’t working. - Maybe it’s too restrictive and you find yourself in a cycle of bingeing and then trying to overcompensate by trying to do more cardio or starving yourself. - Or maybe you are not taking into account the little licks, tastes and bites....they all add up!! - No matter what you do, be consistent. ONE COOKIES & CREAM REVIEW 🍪🍼 • Shoutout to @ash_finds_health & @justjosie88 for guessing the brand & flavour right on my story! • TASTE: 9/10 I’m a big cookies & cream gal, and this gets the stamp of approval from me. It’s the generic cookies & cream flavour, but guess what? Generic C&C is amazing so my tastebuds were pleased 👌🏼 My only complaint would be maybe a slightly stronger chocolate cookie flavour, as this was mostly a white chocolate flavoured bar. • TEXTURE: 10/10 This bar, like most ONE bars, have a coating with an inner nougat. The coating is sweet white chocolate. I can’t quite place my finger on the exact taste of the inner nougat, it isn’t a distinct chocolate cookie taste but the inner pairs well with the coating. The tiny cookie pieces embedded in the nougat give a bit of added texture, although the taste is not very strong. • OVERALL: 9.5/10 I’d definitely buy again. One thing that’s important to note: It is definitely a sweeter kind of bar, so I don’t see myself buying a box of them. What kind of rows are your favorite ? 🚣 • I try to hit at least one row exercise on back days, whether it’s with a cable, barbell, t bar, dumbbell, or seated row machine. • Rows are an awesome compound exercise that is crucial for building a thick and strong back. They incorporate the lats, rhomboids, traps, rear delts, and even a little bit of biceps. • Make sure you’re keeping a flat back on Bent-Over rows, and stick your butt out with a slight bend in the knees. Also keep your neck straight and parallel to your spine (which I wasn’t doing a great job of), and really focus on driving and squeezing your elbows back through the rep. • If you have any back issues or pain, a belt can definitely help out, but I wouldn’t recommend doing any exercises that irritate a previous Injury, or make sure to start off with really light weight. • Keep it slow and controlled on the way down, and hey, hundreds, maybe even thousands of rows later, you may just look in the mirror one day and see some extra muscle and thickness back there 😏💪🏽 • Keep training hard, and give this video a like and share with a friend if it helped or motivated you to want to work out today !

Squats ain't shit 🍑 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Ok, when it comes to REALLY building a booty. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Squats are a great full-body compound exercise and for sure will help you burn calories, but if you're looking to get that peach even more peachy-.. er.. you'll need to incorporate exercises that targets the glootes! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In comes the Bulgarian split squat. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ How far your front foot is from the bench will dictate if you're going to work more of your quads or more of your glutes and hamstrings. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In the first video, my foot is close to the bench, which means I'll be working more of the quad. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Swipe right (no, this isn't Tinder 🔥), and you'll see a wider stance, where you'll be working more of your backside. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Both variations are great for building overall strong and shapely legs so feel free to change up your foot placement on your next leg day! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This post is brought to you today by international hump day 🐪 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ What's your favorite glute exercise? 🍑 . . .

If I became a single mother of 3 overnight & wanted to lose 1 stone to attract handsome Jared from HR.⁣⁣⁣⁣.. ⁣⁣⁣⁣ But I could only train 4x per week at home for 40 minutes, what would I do?⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣ I get it, you’re stressed to the Max! You are tired, Stephanie, Michelle and baby Ava don’t give you a minute’s rest! ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ You are having to work over time to make ends meet, but you just know if you could just lose a stone, you’d feel so much better about yourself.⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣ Jared has demonstrated the most traits of an alpha male, so he’s the target.⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Let’s hope he’s not another weak/insecure man like your last two partners (Phil & Darrell) who turned into desperate stalkers after you blew them off (ringing you all the time & showing up to your house unannounced).⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣ Why can’t they just take the bloody hint?!⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣ The plan is to lose the stone, put yourself into Jared’s orbit and hope he has the balls to make a move! ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Got it? Good!⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣ As always, we have 2 goals when trying to lose fat:⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣ 1- Lost fat⁣⁣⁣⁣ 2- Maintain muscle mass⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣ As such, you’re going to need some weights!⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣ You can buy a cheap barbell & 60kg worth of weighted plates on ebay for £50.⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣ 4 sessions per week for 40 minutes, I’d suggest 30 mins of weights & 10 mins of HIIT at the end.⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣ The routine? Google upper/lower split routine. Keep in mind these routines will be approx 1 hour long. Simply just reduce the number of sets for each exercise so that each session is approx. 30 mins.⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣ YouTube some HIIT ideas for the 10 minutes of HIIT cardio.⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣ Remember, weight training is there to preserve lean muscle mass. The HIIT cardio is there as a tool to burn calories to help create the calorie deficit needed for fat loss.⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣ Next, we’re going to need some daily nutrition targets. Go to IIFYM.COM for a calculator.⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣ Keep in mind these are just estimates, the key is to adjust these figures when you plateau.⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣ Plug these targets into myfitnesspal.⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣ The goal? Lose 0.5-1.0% weight loss per week. If this isn’t achieved, drop kcals by 10-15%, while keeping protein constant. Rinse & repeat!

Check ins... still trying to get over this nagging cough going on week three 🥵. But being consistent.. (eating / training / supplements @globalformulas ) hit macros better this week 🙌🏼 despite the social and family events... flexible dieting makes life better that way for me this off season for sure. How do you measure progress?? 📈 It can be easy to feel ‘stuck’ or like you haven’t seen any changes, but having a few key🗝 variables to track and keep in mind can help! _ 📌Measurements - taking these can often show you more than the scale can! 📌Weight - weighing yourself daily or a few times per week to get an average loss/gain each week 📌Nutrition - this can range from hitting your targets to prepping meals. Or even adding flexibility in! Has balance been easier to reach/incorporate? 📌Training - have your lifts gone up? Are certain movements easier? Have you been able to do more? 📌Photos - progress photos help so much. We often can’t see changes day to day, but having side by side photos a few weeks apart can show a lot of change! 📌Recovery - sleep! Sleeping well is a big one! Has it gotten better? Are you struggling to get enough? 📌Mindset - How are you FEELING everyday? How are you approaching your work, relationships, training, etc? One of the biggest struggles I face is slowing down. Most of us have a never ending to do list and the thought of taking a break just doesn’t even sound possible most days. But what if I said your results, your progress and your health depends on it? In Chinese philosophy, yin and yang describe how seemingly opposite forces may actually be complimentary: negative vs positive, dark vs bright, feminine vs masculine,etc. It represents the need to bring things into balance and your body needs balance too. If we are constantly giving our away energy, we have to stop and ask ourselves: what are we doing to bring energy in? How can we expect to reach a state of balance if we are not doing both? We simply can’t and over time this imbalance will manifest itself by causing issues within our bodies: hormone imbalance, inflammation, sleep disturbances, skin problems, low energy, weight gain, lack of progress and the list goes on and on. It’s different for everyone of course because we are all unique and have our own unique bodies but the truth remains the same for all of us: We have to find the balance between go and no. Our health depends on it 💕

🍎☕️Slow down - Chew - Enjoy your food Did you know that your stomach can hold up to 4 liters of volume? ⁣ However, the feeling of satiety is not caused by your stomach being full, but a result of your brain reacting to chemicals released when you put food or drink in your stomach.⁣ ⁣ Your brain 🧠 takes around 20 minutes to register these chemicals. After you eat, the levels continue to rise over 10 to 30 minutes and stay elevated for three to five hours following the meal, keeping you sated. As the chemical 🧬 levels fall, the feeling of hunger returns. If you do not feel full directly after you eat, wait, as the level of chemicals increases, your hunger will dissipate.⁣ ⁣ 🥗I am a huge believer that we eat with the eyes 👀 first! Of course sometimes it is way easier to just grab an apple and devour in 2 minutes! ⁣ ⁣ However if you take some time for yourself and your food, you May find that you’re not as hungry because you’re giving some time for your body sends signals to my brain that it is enough.⁣ ⠀⁣ 🙎🏻‍♀️I can hear some of you saying, “meeehhh it takes so much of my time”! BUT! Lanche da tarde: bolo de coco com cacau, receita que a @flaviapleite compartilhou comigo! Para a massa bata 20g de cacau em pó + 2 ovos inteiros + 15g de coco ralado + 10g de manteiga sem sal derretida + adoçante de sua preferência (usei 10 gotas de stevia). Depois de bater bem, adicione 1/2 colher de fermento em pó, bata novamente e leve para assar por 30 minutos a 200º. Para a cobertura misturei 40ml de leite de coco com 15g de leite em pó, e finalizei com coco ralado por cima. Quantidade para 1 porção individual ✨ Macros: 28g gorduras, 18g carboidratos e 19g proteínas . Dica: 1 colher de sopa tem aproximadamente 10g, caso não tenha balança é só fazer a conversão . Todas as receitas que faço são baseadas na minha distribuição de macros diários e nos alimentos que tenho disponíveis no dia. Por isso, são sempre adaptáveis! Você pode substituir os ingredientes (as farinhas, o tipo de leite, a forma de adoçar, etc) e criar algo que se adapte à sua realidade e necessidades! Alguma dúvida sobre como substituir? Who loved a warm cinnamon and brown sugar pop tart as a child? 🙋🏼‍♀️While delicious, they are pretty dense and provide very little protein. Our version gives you 15g of protein for a sweet cinnamon treat. Right out of the oven, you’ll love them! 😍 BROWN SUGAR POP TARTS 🔹Dough: 1 scoop (34g) Core Nutritionals MRP Snickerdoodle 1⁄4 cup (28g) almond flour 1 T. (14g) coconut oil, melted 1 T. sugar free maple syrup 1 T. unsweetened almond milk 2 T. (14g) Paleo flour 🔹Filling: 1 T. (12g) brown sugar 1⁄2 tsp. ground cinnamon 10g Core Nutritionals MRP Snickerdoodle 1 T. unsweetened almond milk 🔹Glaze: 8g Core MRP Snickerdoodle 1 T. unsweetened almond milk . Directions: Preheat oven to 325° and line a small baking sheet with parchment paper. In a microwave safe bowl, melt coconut oil and stir until smooth. In a mixing bowl, combine protein powder and almond flour. Add coconut oil and syrup. Alternate adding 1 T. of almond milk and additional paleo flour until a ball of dough forms. Knead a few times to combine. On a floured surface, roll out dough into a large rectangle; (dough will be sticky so don’t press down too hard). Cut into 4 equal rectangles. In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, cinnamon, protein and milk. Stir and crumble mixture until coarse. Place 2 rectangles on the baking sheet and divide crumble topping among each placing it in the center. Lay the other side on top. Using a fork, gently press down around both edges to seal. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Bake for 8-10 minutes until lightly brown. Meanwhile, in a small bowl add almond milk to protein powder for glaze and stir until smooth. Add additional protein powder or liquid to achieve desired consistency. Let pastry squares cool then drizzle glaze on top. ✖WAIST WEDNESDAY✖ * * This is the real me. The raw me. No high waisted pants to cover my belly pooch. No sucking in. This is ME. * * I have fat, but we all have fat. Some have less or more than others. Having fat does not make YOU fat. Everybody carries their fat in different places. Some in their butt and thighs, some in their arms and back, some in their midsection; like me. You guys, there is nothing wrong with having fat.. * * I struggled with this for many years. Deep down I believe that we've all desired to have a chiseled waistline with our abdominal muscles peering through. If you want that, and you're willing to work for it, I can respect that. But keep in mind that it may come easier for some than others. Genetically it just may not be in the cards for you. Having loose skin from carrying a baby, or significant weightloss, can also affect those goals. For your body type, being that lean may be unhealthy. But for someone that doesn't carry much fat in their midsection, it may be completely doable and not miserable. * * But what I want to get at here is that no physique is worth being unhealthy, deprived, and miserable. No physique is going to bring you happiness when you feel that way. And when you do achieve that look, what does maintenance look like? What does losing your abs by gaining weight back look like for your mental health? * * I don't have abs because I desire balance in my diet more, and that's okay. I own that!! I enjoy the fact that I don't think twice about getting popcorn and a soda at the movie theater. I enjoy that I can go to gatherings and parties and not obsess over the food but have fun! My diet allows me to have what I want in moderation so I don't feel deprived or susceptible to binging. Belated #toasttuesday from a recent almond butter endeavor 😛 Have you ever had one of those Justin’s cinnamon almond butter packets?? The go-to almond butter flavor I’ve been making lately is basically IDENTICAL 🙌🏽 Just almonds, Saigon cinnamon, a bit of liquid monk fruit sweetener, & the teeniest pinch of Himalayan pink salt ☺️ Earlier in my cooking/baking career I never realized how a pinch really ties all flavors together even in sweet recipes (as opposed to savory) • 🥜Aside from the obvious reason that making your own food from scratch is healthier than store-bought, you can also save a ton of 💰🤑 I don’t get why ppl have this association between clean eating & high costs- a single serving packet costs $1-$1.50 each & jars cost anywhere between $8-$20 😫 Spare your wallet & just buy nuts in BULK! 💫Bonus! This is also a more eco-friendly practice as it saves on both packaging waste AND food waste 💯 • 🥜Nut butters are also ridiculously easy to make- all you need is a ✅food processor ✅nuts ✅spices Unlike nut milks that are a multi day process & require more supplies, nut butters are just too simple! - Quel est le temps de repos idéal?- Tu as sûrement déjà entendu des "jean-science" te dire de prendre 1min30 de repos pour tel exercice, 30sec pour un autre, minuteur à la main évidemment. Le temps de repos te sert à récupérer une force suffisante entre tes séries pour réaliser la suivante tout aussi bien (tu dois être capable de faire au moins le même nombre de répétitions et de maintenir tes performances et une exécution correcte). Si tu n'y arrives pas, c'est simplement que tu as besoin de plus de temps! L'important, c'est le nombre total de fois que ton muscle sera sollicité. Si tu a X séries de X répétitions à effectuer , le fait de prendre plus ou moins de repos ne changeras rien au nombre de fois que ton muscle sera utilisé, il vaut donc mieux prendre le temps de repos qui te permet de performer sur chaque série plutôt que de te précipiter et donc, être trop fatigué et devoir baisser tes charges etc. Inutile pour ça de te chronométrer! Tu dois apprendre petit à petit à ressentir le temps dont tu as besoin et celui-ci peut varier d'une fois à l'autre, selon ton état de fatigue etc. Les exercices polyartoculaires nécessiteront fatalement plus de temps que ceux d'isolation, mais il n'y a pas de temps de repos idéal à la seconde près, il y a TON temps de repos idéal. N'hésite pas à me conseiller des thèmes que tu aimerais que j'aborde petite brioche ⬇️😍 J'espère que ce nouveau genre de post te plait 💖

I know this isn’t the most exciting visually but I want to post a positive review at least once this week! 😂 I know a lot of people don’t like Quest protein bars but with the exception of one or two flavors I’ve always been happy with them. Maple Waffle is beyond good! It’s one of my new favorites. The base of the bar, while it does still have that protein taste, does also have a distinctly “waffle” flavor to it. And then the insane maple syrup inclusion! My parents - they have remained fit and strong into their 60’s! What’s the secret?? Do they count macros??? . My parents are pretty amazing. My Dad just turned 6️⃣7️⃣on Sunday and my Mom turns 6️⃣2️⃣this Sunday.... . They have always been active. They work jobs where they never sit down. But, 8 years ago, my Dad felt like he was losing strength. . He decided he needed more functional, practical strength workout since he was getting older. So he started doing P90X - he has never stopped! . This is consistency at it’s best! He hasn’t missed a week in 8 years! . My Mom doesn’t do it like he does....but he makes her do some lifting 3 times per week. He tells me she not giving it 100%😂and wishes she would put more effort in😂Meaning, she wears her hair down and doesn’t sweat during workouts, which he says is ridiculous!😉 . On top of that, they walk at least 3 miles everyday together! . They are pretty amazing. They are in great shape, they are active! They can be active with their grandkids and not be restricted by any aging injuries! . Do they count macros?!? . NOPE! . They eat very normal. They do go out to dinner weekly where they always split a burger or sandwich. They never order a dessert and have no more than one drink. . It’s just their lifestyle! And they want to be as active and healthy as possible to see all their Grandkids grow up! (This is them with my oldest at her Grad Party💗) . Fitness is not just to see how shredded you can get - it’s for your life! It’s meant to enhance it! For the long run! . Approximately 50% - 60%of your body is made up of 💦. . That number can change quite dramatically overnight and from a variety of different reasons. . When you step on the scales make sure you are being rational when you do so. . If you struggle with weighing yourself, first think, be present and think about your last few days and week. . Be in a good headspace before you do so, otherwise you will set yourself up for failure. . At the end of the days it’s just a number. . Don’t be ruled by it, don’t let it ruin your day or anyone else’s. . Use a variety of ways to asses your progress. . I keep taking pictures of the bump because I know I’m going to miss it when it’s gone! Scottie is almost fully cooked and ready to make an entrance. I’m hoping it will go quickly and safely, (and might I stress quickly), because Epidurals aren’t really an option for me with the placement of my spinal fusion. When people ask me how I stayed so motivated to train every day of this pregnancy, a lot of it is because I plan to be up walking and very active during the labor process to let gravity do its thing!
