Cheerios maple 🍁😎 wasnt too big of a fan of these on their first run through production 😩 but was pleasantly surprised the second time around. These had good flavour and werent overly sweet. With cheerios you can always expect that oaty aftertaste that is sometimes off putting but it actually worked out really well here! With milk, the maple taste really shines here. 😎 if you are a fan of maple i recommend getting these. What do we tell our clients at OBF to avoid before training food wise? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 1. Sports drinks that contain sugar in any form. No matter if it’s high-fructose corn syrup, maltodextrin, or sucrose. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 2. Foods that are high in fructose. They reduce the body’s use of fat for fuel and can cause problems in the gut during training. Fermentable fruits such as apples and pears are not ideal. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 3. Foods that are fermented in the gut are generally not well tolerated during training. These include wheat, most grains, beans, and for some people, dairy. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 4. Huge amounts of caffeine and other stimulants. They can stress the adrenals, which will only cause problems in the long run. Caffeine can radically enhance performance, but you don’t need all that much—1 to 4 g/kg of bodyweight will do the trick. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 5. Proteins that contain problematic nutrients. Beans, milk (whey protein is generally not a problem because high quality sources are lactose free), and fatty animal products. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Actually, to go a bit deeper on the subject of proteins that can be problematic: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Beans contain a type of carb called a-galactosides, which we don’t digest but the gut bacteria will. When you eat them, you feed the beneficial gut bacteria, but you also may have gut issues in the process. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Milk contains lactose, which is not easily digested by some people. Some animal protein sources like bacon, cheese, and fatty meats contain large amounts of saturated fat, which take a longer time to digest. This doesn't mean you cannot eat them, it just means that they may not be best right before an intense workout. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ What do you eat before a workout?

Des légumes bruts 🥦, des fruits crus 🍎, des féculents 🍚, des protéines animales et végétales, des lipides insaturés 🥑 et saturés 🥥🧀. . ▶️ Je cuisine peu. Déjà car je n'ai pas le temps, et que ce n'est pas une passion chez moi 🤷. Ensuite car consommés des aliments le moins transformés possible permet de conserver un maximum de ses propriétés nutritives. J'utilise beaucoup la vapeur pour la cuisson des légumes 🥦, je cuis peu à haute température ou dans l'eau. . ▶️ Les 10-20% restant dans mon alimentation QUOTIDIENNE sont des aliments qui me font plaisir mais qui ne sont pas toujours sain ➡️ des céréales 🥣, du chocolat 🍫(pas noir 😅), un biscuit 🍪... || let's talk a few things BENCH PRESS: · Mainly your BAR PATH - here's a few cues to go along with the video: 1️⃣ head: you should be laying under the bar with your mouth/nose directly below it 2️⃣ shoulders: glue them to the bench, don't round them forward. keep slight retraction. 🚨the first clip is with a flat back & second is with an arched back - both are fine ways to bench and neither are wrong unless performed incorrectly. Arched back (usually seen in powerlifting) tends to let you lift heavier, decreases the ROM, and can feel better on your shoulders. Figure which one feels and works best for you🚨 3️⃣ core: embrace it. Act like someone's gonna punch you in the stomach · ❌ STRAIGHT: harder to lift the load, more stress on the shoulders, just not fun. ✅ DIAGONAL: bring the bar down to mid/lower chest and at the top of the movement the bar should be covering your view if you are looking up at the ceiling. · And girls, you may not have testes but you do have chesties - train them 💪🏼||

I can always count on a good burrito bowl! It’s one of the easiest ways to create a balanced bowl, not to mention the combinations are endless! When I’m building these bowls I aim for a good serving of veggies, protein, a fiber rich carb and a small serving of fat. That’s the macro breakdown that works best for me, it might look different for you depending on how you feel or your goals. As someone who lifts, I personally find eating a higher ratio of carbs vs fats has a much better effect on my energy, performance and recovery. Diet can be a lot of trial and error. 🤸🏻‍♀️In the defence of MyFitnessPal... I’ve heard people say “isn’t it bad to advise people to track calories for weight loss because you can develop eating disorders?”. But let’s just consider other diets for a second .... . 🥦🍎’Clean eating’?..... you could develop orthorexia: disordered eating with an obsession with eating only ‘health’ foods & ingredients. . 😈😇Weight watchers.... label foods as less or more sinful, views foods as good & bad without teaching nutritional values yet you still have to track foods. . 🥑Low carb/Keto .. what happens when you crave a pizza/chips/cake & fall off track? Screw it? For most it’s not sustainable long term . 5:2 diet: restricted eating followed by normal eating. After hardly eating for 2 days are you really going to eat ‘normally’ or will you feast without limits? 🍫🍬🍭 . What I’m trying to say is: All diets come with some kind of restriction and all can be associated with the development of disordered eating habits. At least by tracking calories and macros you can learn about the nutritional content of food AND allow yourself some flexibility with food choices increasing the likelihood of compliance and providing you with some knowledge to make more educated choices to sustain weight loss long term! At the end of the day all weight loss diets work the same: by creating a calorie deficit, so why wouldn’t you want more flexibility with your food choices? The longer you spend restricting yourself and eating in a deficit the more likely you are to become food focussed & develop obsessive & unhealthy habits. . ➡️So: make the fat loss process efficient to minimise the time you spend in a deficit and create sustainable habits to prevent fat regain 💪🏼👊🏼🙌🏼 . When I first started squatting consistently in 2013, my max at the time was 320lbs, and one spotter, at most, was needed. Fast forward almost 6 years, and double the weight on the bar, and the sight of 5 spotters for myself as a sub 200lb lifter just never gets old. I don’t get under a bar thinking “this sh*t could severely cripple me with one tiny slip up”. But that is the reality. I’m just crazy enough to love that rush and be adept at feeding off of it. Some people view food SOLELY as FUEL. Others view food SOLELY as an EXPERIENCE. What does this mean? As a Personal Trainer / Athlete, I’ve looked at food from both perspectives. When training for a specific goal, I had to look at every bit of the food I was consuming as a source of fuel that would effect the outcome of my efforts. I found joy in eating meals that would give me the best opportunity to perform at a high level, even if every meal didn’t quite taste like “HEAVEN IN MY MOUTH”. I found more value in nutritional quality rather than the flavor quality. I looked at fuel SOLELY as fuel. During “off-seasons” when I didn’t find myself so rigid with my diet, I found myself enjoying the “experience” of the food I was eating rather than focusing on the effect of the food I was eating. Candy, Desserts, Crazy Sauces and Seasonings, all of these things made for an awesome eating experience. But my physical performance would always suffer as a result of my long term “off season” mentality. I believe that the average person values the experience of the food that they put in their bodies over the quality of the fuel that they are putting in. WE NEED BOTH TO LEAD HAPPY LIVES. Life is all about balance. We have to evaluate our relationship with food and ask ourselves what we really want. Let me be clear... YOU CAN HAVE BOTH. 1️⃣ Lasagne: Game Day+ 1️⃣ ▫️ Hey guys, we are back with a recipe which would work great for the day before the game. The reason why - it’s high in carbs whilst also being easy to make from scratch. We have used some lower fat cheese to reduce the amount of fat that is in the dish. This dish would be good to keep in freezer aswell, so your could make it in advance and just pull it out and chuck it in the oven. ▫️ Ingredients: ▫️ For the Ragu: ✅500g 5% lean beef ✅Celery sticks ✅2 carrots ✅1 red onion ✅2 garlic cloves ✅Pack of mushrooms 🍄 ✅2 stock pots ✅2 tins of tomatoes 🍅 ✅ 1 tbsp tomato purée ▫️ For the cheese sauce: ✅25g of butter ✅25 gram of flour ✅400ml of milk ✅100g of low fat cheddar cheese 🧀 ▫️ Other: ✅Fresh lasagne sheets ✅Low fat mozzarella( optional topping) - Cook for 45-50 minutes till the cheese is nice and crispy 🤤 ▫️ Macros: Calories⚖️ 600 Protein 🥩 52g Carbs🥔 53g Fat🥚16g ▫️ What’s your favourite pre match meal? . . . . . . . . . . . . . #foodinsta #foodinspiration #training #rugby #foodporn #foodphotography #nutrition #health #rugbygrub #balance #iifym #flexibledieting #onepan #recovery #dieter

I know when you think of @thepioneerwoman, you probably aren’t thinking of macro friendly dishes. But I adapted her spicy veggie stir fry to have more protein and keep all the flavor you can expect anytime you make a Ree Drummond dish! Here is how I did it: . 1️⃣ Instead of cooking the vegetables in oil, use cooking spray to keep the fat calories down. Speaking of vegetables, I omitted the corn and the broccoli, just because it’s a family preference. . 2️⃣ After you cook the veggies, take them out of the pan and add in about a pound and a half of chicken breast cut into bite sized pieces. I used a combination of cooking spray and a little olive oil during this step (1 tablespoon). Once it’s all cooked through, add back in the veggies and continue with the recipe. . 3️⃣ Double the sauce recipe! If you don’t, you won’t have enough sauce to cover the veggies and the chicken! A note about the sauce, it is pretty spicy. So you may just want to add a tablespoon of sriracha instead of two like the recipe calls for, or omit it completely if your family doesn’t like spice. You can always drizzle some on top of your dish to add more heat later! . 4️⃣ The recipe calls for noodles to be served with this dish, but we went with a combo of rice and cauliflower rice to keep the carbs lower. Zoodles would be great too. Choose your starch based on what you have room for! . And that’s it! A 250 g serving of the sauce, veggies, and chicken came in at 24c/4f/30p, which is much more macro friendly than many of the dishes at your local take out. 👌🏼 Link in bio!

Get the **** over it 😬✌️ _ So I briefly mentioned had a extremely painful back injury/accident last week. I've been feeling sorry for myself as I had planned to potentially compete in season A this year (which won't happen) and I've been off the gym for 2 weeks. _ On reflection... Is it the end of the world?... Of course not! _ Why?... Because sometimes life doesn't happen how you plan it to! Right now I have bigger priorities. I.e my health, my family, my job, my partner. ❤️ _ I love bodybuilding and I will not stop, I want to smash 2019 and my goal is still to get in the best shape of my life. _ Its easy to see unplanned occurrences as negatives... Did you know the average “Taco Salad” from a restaurant has anywhere from 1000-2000+ calories?! That’s more than an entire day’s worth of food for some! . Don’t be fooled when ordering a salad from a restaurant, thinking you’re making a healthy choice when really it’s LOADED with fat (from cheeses, dressings and other toppings) and contains very little protein (usually under 4oz of chicken, meat or fish). . I LOVE Mexican food - fajitas, quesadillas, guacamole, & TACO SALADS! However when ordering these foods at a restaurant, it’s tough to stay within my macros because many of the ingredients they use (although yummy) are full fat, high carb and high calorie. . Intermittend Fasting nach einer Essstörung❓ . IF boomte die letzten Jahre ähnlich wie die vegane Ernährung. Beides hat - grundsätzlich - ihre Daseinsberechtigung. So weit, so gut, aber FÜR WEN?? Und wie stark spielt die Psyche dabei eine Rolle? -> Wenn du aus einer Essstörung/Magersucht kommst und deinem Körper viel zu lange essentielle Nährstoffe entzogen hast, ist das Gesündeste, was du tun kannst, ihm diese wieder AUSREICHEND zu geben!!! Und da der Appetit/Magen kleiner geworden ist, macht es prinzipiell wenig Sinn, sich zu einer gewissen Uhrzeit die Nahrungsaufnahme auch noch zu verbieten. Sollte es dir WIRKLICH helfen, im „erlaubten Zeitraum“ dann mehr zu essen, es dir besser bekommen und gut in dein Leben passen, spricht grundsätzlich nichts dagegen. ABER sei einfach ehrlich zu dir selbst, wenn es darum geht, nach einer Essstörung (wieder) irgendwelchen speziellen Ernährungsformen zu folgen!!! -> Suchst du wieder etwas, bei dem du auf irgendwas verzichten kannst/musst? By @achievefitnessboston - 1️⃣FEET HIP WIDTH APART AND BARBELL OVER MID-FOOT: In order to establish a strong base of support, start with your feet under your hips with toes forward or slightly flared out. Step up to the bar so that it’s close to your shins and over your mid-foot. - 2️⃣HINGE YOUR HIPS BACK: Initiate the deadlift by sitting back with your hips. This will help you to load your posterior chain (glutes and hamstrings) and get into a strong starting position. - 3️⃣GRAB THE BAR JUST OUTSIDE YOUR SHINS: The wider your hands, the greater the demand on your mid and upper back. Keeping your hands in closer will help make the pull feel easier than if they were out too wide. - 4️⃣ALIGN YOUR ARMPITS DIRECTLY OVER THE BAR: This will set you up for a more vertical and direct bar path, which makes the deadlift much more efficient. - 5️⃣PUSH INTO THE FLOOR AND STAND TALL: Instead of thinking about “lifting” the bar off the floor, think about “pushing” your feet into the ground. 🍽 Breakfast on the Go! 🍽 • • Being on the move is where many of us put ourselves in position to make the wrong decisions. Even more, if we are in a rush, we use that as an excuse or a reason to eat short of the goals of our expectations. There is always a way. Just keep in the back of your mind, how much you've been working hard to get your body to where it is now. That one snack, meal, treat could derail your hard work, and is it really worth it? Usually no! Now, is 1 meal going to ruin everything; of course not! It's more so the mindset. When you allow yourself to be vulnerable to a bad meal because of a circumstance that's when the trouble comes in. If we are in a rush everyday, are we going to eat bad everyday? Before you know it, 6 weeks of being "on the go" eating will start to catch up with you. ⁉️ABDOMINAL TRAINING⁉️ - For my current abdominal training, I will pick 2 days to train them directly. I will place my abdominal exercises at the end of my leg workouts usually or the day after leg day workouts. You do not want to train abdominals the day before lower body training, just so that your core musculature isn't fatigued before doing squats or deadlifts (lifts that involve a lot of core stability). My favorite exercises as of late are the Hanging Leg Raise & the Kneeling Cable Rope Crunch. I will rotate these in and out & considering some other exercises in my next mesocycle.💢 - Should you be doing more abdominal training than this? It depends. If you have any dysfunctions, then obviously you should consult a physician or physical therapist to be taken out of pain and be cleared to exercise. That being said, I think that you do need to train your core in a reasonable manner just like you train your legs in a reasonable manner. If you want your legs to grow, you wouldn't start squatting 6 times a week. But for some reason, people who want a six pack end up training their abdominals 6 times a week. With heavy compounds performed with proper execution and form, your core will obviously work, but I do believe there is a place for direct abdominal work.✅ - When I was younger, I would train my abdominal muscles 4-6 times per week. That was overkill for sure, but it may be one of the reasons why I can get away with training my abdominals only 2 times per week, now. For those of you with pain, I would consider consulting a physical therapist as mentioned above, but also consider exercises like planks, dead bugs, birddogs, brisk walks, stretching the tight muscle tissues, activating the lengthened muscles, etc. - www.AdamNeth.com/collections/all

☕️Point is, a nice butt is a very nice. And if you want to build a nice nice butt there are many ways to do it. But sometimes you might want to build a nice nice butt without building your legs. And that’s ok because we all have goals and all goals are valid. And as long as you’re working towards a nice nice butt I think we can all be in agreement that we’re creating a positive environment in a nice nice world.

🦄Anyway. If you want to build a nice nice butt without building your legs the key is to emphasize exercises known as “hip dominant.” These are exercises that use mostly glutes and hamstring and very little quad. Nearly all of these exercises have the knees almost straight while the hips create the movement (flex and extend) to force your nice butt to fire and grow into a nice nice butt.

☕️If you have any questions about any of these exercises, legend has it there is a magical portal called, what’s the name, google! And if you enter this google portal and type in the name of the exercise followed by “tutorial” you will be transported on a magic carpet to a secret land in which you will have access to all of the video tutorials ever made on that exercise. Granted, that’s just a legend. So it might not be true (but worth a shot).

Arm day done! 💪👌 I was feeling pretty down on myself because I was super fatigued and feverish the past few days and missed a workout. But, I’m still down another 1.5 lbs from the weekend and was feeling back to myself today! I think my low energy levels were a combination of not-great sleep for a couple of nights; and trying a different breakfast routine. I switched back to my original breakfast routine today and am feeling a lot more energized. Learning what my body needs is as much (if not more) a part of this process as losing the weight. I feel great on a carb heavy breakfast, and do not do well having a low carb breakfast and morning snack. Lesson learned and thankful for the ability to be flexible and do what works for me! #flexibledieting #weightloss #girlswholift

I’ve learned so much since then, so I thought I’d compile a list of things I would do differently, so that maybe if somebody reading this who is wanting to embark on a new health journey won’t make the same mistakes that I did. Don’t get me wrong, those mistake have molded me into who I am today. I truly believe that it is through trial and error, where we grow the most. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ WHAT I WISH I KNEW BEFORE:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🌟You DON’T have to eat under 1,000 calories to lose weight.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🌟The number on the scale DOESN’T matter. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🌟Lifting weights does not make bulky. 🌟Your health is far more important than the way you look in the mirror. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🌟Carbs ArE nOt BaD. In fact they’re a pretty important macro! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🌟Certain foods will NOT make you gain weight, being in a caloric surplus will. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🌟Weighing yourself multiple times a day won’t make the weight come off faster. 🌟Reaching out/asking for help is necessary for growth!! You don’t have to do it alone! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🌟You are beautiful just as you are. No weight will ever change that.
