I like to stop, pause and reflect on all the good things that I am lucky to experience. I was reminded of how life can hit you out of know where with bad news. This last week with a good friend of mine having a sick family members and many of my patients going through unbelievable grief I have to work hard to both listen to their pain and be grateful for the little humans and the life that I have in front of me. In those dark moments often of forced change it is very hard to find light. Many times we are forced to experience bad news with no warning and no security net to catch you. This weekend I had a delicious time having adventures with my kids. We stopped and paused while in nature and for a moment I forgot that others around me were suffering. I felt guilty for feeling joy and wishing that for others when they were in pain. I am reminded constantly that all I can do in a moment is just be. This day of exploring with the kids was that reminder. Look up, slow down and don’t sweat the small stuff. Do you meditate or practice mindfulness daily? If you don’t, here’s one more reason why you should... 🧘🏼‍♀️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Researchers found that even a short course of practicing mindfulness meditation on a daily basis for three weeks may “prevent or slow down” progression of primary open angle glaucoma (POAG). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Currently, the treatment of glaucoma focuses on lowering intraocular pressure (IOP) to prevent further optic nerve head damage. However, “other mechanisms such as ischemia, oxidative stress, glutamate excitotoxicity, neurotrophin loss, inflammation/glial activation, and vascular dysregulation,” that may play a role are typically not addressed — and these mechanisms can be affected by stress. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In this study, patients with POAG practiced mindfulness meditation daily for 21 days. 🕊ABUNDANCE🕊 . Hey babes. Happiest Monday, to all! Y’all must be wondering why I have been posting so many of one liners lately? That’s because healing truly begins when our body, mind, thoughts, and intentions are all in alignment.🧘🏽‍♂️ . I give my patients new mantras, phrases, sayings, or an infamous one liner of mine at each of their appointments. This helps them hone in on the mental aspect of their healing and create a more positive and purposeful mindset to help themselves initiate the healing process and attain their goals. And let me tell you, it works! . I share this idea of abundance and “enoughness” with you all today because so many of us have doubts. We doubt our ability to be good enough, successful enough (what does that even mean by the way?!!🤦🏽‍♀️), happy enough, healthy enough, etc. Then we often go to beat up on ourselves, and compare who we are to others around us. Our family, friends, people we don’t even know on social media (!!!), and then our self esteem plummets.🙇🏻‍♀️This may bring up feelings of anger, jealousy, envy, irritability, despair, depression, or anxiety. . This happens to so many of us and can disrupt homeostasis within the body, thus causing health problems. This way of operating - this constant comparison and competitive nature with others, perpetuates the cycle. . I want to tell you that you never have to feel that way again. . Why? Because there is enough for all of us. Once you start breaking the cycle, and start to choose to be happy and encouraging for others, your heart opens and you no longer feel these self deprecating feelings. This is a conscious choice you can make. There is no need for comparison or competition. Change your mindset. Cheer each other on. We can all be happy, healthy, successful, and full of love for each other and for ourselves. . The holidays are here, and there is no better time than the season of light to start lighting yourself up with happiness for you and for all people! You deserve to feel happiness and balance. You get to choose the life you want for yourself. Choose abundance for all.🙏🏼

This is usually the 1st #mindfulness activity I teach my clients to help #reduce their #feelings of #anxiety. I ask them to recite it 1 in the morning and once in the evening so they’re familiar with it and are able to implement at the 1st sign of an anxiety attack. Works like a #charm. I was thinking about life and the moment we were in, skin on skin I wondered if you felt my trembling soul within? you held my hand as we admired the skyline of a place we were introduced in, like a soft drum I felt your pulse on my body as you pulled me in. you didn't mind the rain nor my wet hair on your skin, so gently playing with it with your fingertips. everything was bathed in silence and we joined in, but I knew there were many thoughts and feelings to be shared in the space between you and I . so, I  turned towards you and the lights in the background blurred into spots, bringing you into focus in front of my brown eyes. you didn't notice or maybe you did but it didn't matter because all I wanted to see laid in front of this beautiful scene. WE’RE ALL JUST DOING THE BEST WE CAN. Looking back and questioning our past decisions does nothing but create self-doubt. . When we look back into the past we’re looking with a completely different perspective than we had then. So it’s not fair to judge ourselves, since we now know the outcome and how everything played out. . When we’re in the moment, we have no clue what’s going to happen. All we can do, is do the best we can with the knowledge and information we have at the time. . Every decision we’ve made was the best for us in that moment. Not necessarily that it had the best outcome, but there was some part of us that needed to play out that behavior and that experience. We don’t always know why we do what we do. . Make peace with everything you have done in your past. Learn from it, make any changes to your behavior, but stop questioning, doubting, and wondering what would have happened “if only” you had done something differently. That will leave you stuck in self-doubt, lost in the past, and not fully present for the life that you’re experiencing today.

I encourage you to consider that one day will be your last. We will leave this body and return home. Making peace with this simple fact will free us to truly enjoy each moment, because we know that our moments are limited. Knowing that our death is right around the corner (more or less) gives us the freedom to truly LIVE without fear, LOVE without reservation, and follow our passions, fascinations, and curiosities wherever they may lead.❤️
