Real Talk 🙋🏻‍♀️✨💕 . I think I grossly underestimated how difficult marathon training would be as a new full-time working mom. It’s only week 3 and I can already see this will take every ounce I have left to give, mad time management skills and buckets of coffee. I do believe it’s worth it...and if you want something bad enough, if it means enough to you, if it’s truly important than you will find a way. . Time to forge a path 🛤🏔✨. . #marathontraining #optoutside #motherrunner #postpartumfitness #runningmama #run #train #nycmarathon2019 #stroller #running #makeaway #shebelievedshecouldsoshedid #keepshowingup

I was never the typical kid on the block. ✨ When I was 8, our neighborhood had a boys only roller-hockey co-op, where the neighborhood boys could gather together and play street hockey. Well, my older brother played. I was so upset I couldn’t play that I’d go put his clothes on, push all my hair into my helmet, and pretend I was a boy. I wasn’t fooling any parents, but they let me play with the boys. ✨ When I was 12, I wanted to join a local ski club that focused on park skiing at the ski mountain, but it was a club for boys. The club for girls was cross country skiing and that seemed less interesting to me. So I started showing up for the boys sessions and because I was there with skis on and I was ready to ski, the instructors never sent me away. ✨ When I was 15, I organized a protest in my high school for rules I thought were ridiculous. One rule was if your bra strap showed, you’d get detention for a week. So of course I unconventionally rallied the girls in my school and we decided no one would wear bras on Tuesdays. It took one ‘Braless Tuesday’, and that rule was lifted. I got detention for that, and then got grounded for getting detention. I’m aware that rule was never reinstated. ✨ When I went to college, I’d bring my skis everywhere. One time, when there was 1 inch of snow on the ground, I spent hours shoveling snow and creating a small path that went from my dorm to my class and then skied to class. Everyone thought I was insane. My extreme efforts to ski has transcended today where I’ll carry skis for miles and miles to ski small patches of snow. ✨ I’ve always done things I thought were right, I’ve usually done them unconventionally, and I’m usually pretty stubborn once I decide to do something. ✨ Moral? Do the right thing, do it your way first (but also listen to other people’s ideas) & stay true to what you believe in.

Summer in Marin. Crispy caramel grass covered hills and grand green oaks. Looks like broccoli crowns on a heaping plate of pasta! Maybe I’m hungry - again 😂 Praying for a fire free season 🤞🏻 #dry #landscape #landscapeillustration #marin #mountainart #norcal #optoutside #rollinghills #smellslikehome #staffordlake #watercolorstudy
