5 month progress check ✔️ While this isn’t a mind blowing transformation, for me it’s an achievement! I used to be the biggest cardio bunny around but I’m really liking how my body is starting to shape and form now that I have been incorporating weight training into the mix. The best part is I don’t deprive myself of anything! ✨ Kontercanter ✨ This is a great tool to help the horse with collection in canter. It‘s not only sn exercise you have to do for competition on level L or as a preparation for lead changes. If done correctly and without stress, the conter canter can teach the horse with a minimum of effort for the rider, how to jump with lifting the back in canter, and not only make a ‚Tralopp‘. The horse has to place the hindlegs far under the belly and to carry his weight on them, when it wants to maintain balance in this exercise. 🤗 Of course you need to start slowly by only asking for a few jumps each time and it is necessary for a well-working back of the horse, that the rein contact is loose. So never try to hold the reins, because that would block the hindfeet from coming forward and stiffen the back. 📖 How To Kettlebell Swing 📖 ————— Ahhh the KB swing, a very common exercise that is often performed with various amounts of form... Here is my breakdown of how I teach it to my clients 👌🏻 ————— The KB swing concentrates on the hip hinge movement. This is vitally important movement which I’ll go into on another post. ————— Here are a sequence of exercises that my new client @jarredingham is demonstrating. We break down the movement into sections that you can concentrate on, and once you have become proficient in each stage, you can move on to the next stage, and so on so forth until you’re doing the movement correctly 🤓💪🏻 ————— 1) KB Deadlifts w/ Resistance Band - Here we are training the hip hinge by lifting weight from the floor whilst overcoming posterior resistance from the resistance band. This trains us to bring our hips all the way through to train a correct range of motion 👍🏻 — 2) Banded Pull Through - Same concept as no. 1 but with no weight. Concentrate on the glute squeeze as you bring your hips through 🍑 — 3) 1 By 1 KB Swing - Now we want each rep to be independent so we can train the body to hinge properly on each individual rep. Each movement starts with a slight swing back between the legs, then from there it’s all about the glute squeeze to drive the hips through 💪🏻 — 4) KB Swing - How the movement should be performed. Little use of the legs as the hips are properly pushed back, nice neutral spine from the base of the skull to your coccyx, with the belly button tucked in to engage the core and prevent excessive extension in the lower back (this is why you’ll get bad backs/back pain during the KB swing).
