Pamban bridge is the railway bridge that connects the Rameshwaram island to the Indian mainland. Opened in 1914, it was the longest sea bridge in India until the opening of Bandra Worli sea link. The bridge has a double leaf bascule section midway, which can be raised to lets ships pass through. This picture is taken from a parallel road bridge called Indira bridge. . . . . #railwaybridge #travel #travelindia #india #lonelyplanetindia #pambanbridge #indiaclicks #travelphotography #natgeoyourshot #yourshotindia #natgeotravelindia #rameshwaram #temple #findyourithaka #india_photography #shotoniphone #boatride #karnataka_focus #karnataka_ig #tamilnadu #tamilnadutourism #outlooktraveller #incredibelindia #projectdiscoverindia #tripbae_karnataka #splendid_india #visualsofindia @india_thru_my_iphone @indiapictures @india @lonelyplanetindia @natgeotravellerindia @indiaview @streets.of.india @outlooktraveller @incredibleindia @natgeotravellerindia @karnataka_photos @whatsaroundbangalore @india.beats @tripbae_karnataka @projectdiscoverindia @splendid_india

"When we move on, find someone else, and make a life with them, we delude ourselves into believing that we have granted ourselves a closure and the void is filled by this new person, with whom we plan to share and build our life with", says Bhai. Few seconds of silence. "But it doesn't work like that. The void is never filled", together we say so. "Yes. Exactly", says Bhai. "Every person comes into our life with a beauty, a trait, a role which is unique to them. It is this distinct quality that creates a special need in the first place, that fosters the not yet emergent void in us", I contribute to this thought. . . We sit on the stairs leading to the Masjid. We remember our friends whom we lost to cancer, depression, suicide. "This is my story. This is my song", Bhai recalls these lines from the song "Blessed Assurance". "Some people never really got the opportunity to live their stories, to live their lives, to sing their songs", I voiced my thoughts. . . I drop my head on Bhai's shoulders, as if thrown by the weight of the memories of the ones who shared their lives with us once, by the burden of the possibilities of how life could have been with them, only if time was kind enough, only if they were patient enough. Bhai rests his head on my head. Together we find solace in the grey windy sky, inhabited my birds and kites flown by young kids nearby. Together we find ourselves in the company of solitude.
